Your badge has 12-month validity. Two renewal paths, decided by Signal Watch's audit trail, not by an arbitrary anniversary fee.
Stable renewal
If neither your AI system nor the relevant regulation has materially changed since your last assessment, Signal Watch certifies stability. Your badge renews at marginal cost. The original SHA-256 anchor (Bitcoin via OpenTimestamps) and DOI remain valid. The artifact is the same, only its validity window is extended.
Re-scoring
If the regulation has changed (implementing acts, MDCG updates, case law) OR your AI system has changed (substantial modification under Art. 3(23) AIA), a fresh re-scoring is triggered. New SHA-256 anchor, new DOI version, new dated proof. Continuity preserved, freshness confirmed.
Signal Watch is the audit trail that distinguishes stable from changed. Without Signal Watch, every renewal requires a full re-scoring at standard rate. There is no shortcut.
