SPRINKLING ACT
PERMANENCE
Three independent infrastructure layers anchor every report. The proof remains valid even if this site disappears tomorrow.
WHY IT MATTERS
Most compliance vendors deliver a PDF. If the vendor closes, gets acquired, or rebrands, the artifact loses its provenance. A document signed only by the seller is opinion. A document anchored in independent public infrastructure is evidence. Sprinkling Act's reports are anchored across three layers, none of which we control after publication.
THE THREE LAYERS
LAYER 1 — ACADEMIC PRESERVATION
Every published research output is deposited at Zenodo, the open-access research repository operated by CERN. Each deposit receives a permanent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) backed by DataCite. CERN guarantees long-term preservation independent of the depositing entity. If Sprinkling Act ceases operations, the DOI continues to resolve at doi.org and the artifact remains downloadable.
DOI 10.5281/zenodo.19671328 (Readiness Report — April 2026) · DOI 10.5281/zenodo.20042174 (Annex A — May 2026)
LAYER 2 — CRYPTOGRAPHIC TIMESTAMP
The SHA-256 hash of every report is stamped using the OpenTimestamps protocol, which anchors the proof in the Bitcoin blockchain via OP_RETURN aggregation. The result: a non-repudiable proof that the report existed at a given moment in time, verifiable by anyone running the open-source OpenTimestamps client. No central authority controls this proof: not Sprinkling Act, not OpenTimestamps, not any single Bitcoin node.

LAYER 3 — PUBLIC MIRROR
Every .ots timestamp file is mirrored on a verified GitHub organization. This adds a third independent layer: even if Bitcoin nodes evolve, even if Zenodo changes its policies, the source files remain accessible at a stable URL with full git history. Anyone can clone the repository, audit past timestamps, and verify anchoring claims without contacting Sprinkling Act.

VERIFICATION
WHAT THIS REPLACES
| Typical vendor | Sprinkling Act |
|---|---|
| Compliance SaaS / consulting firm | Independent academic + cryptographic anchoring |
| PDF signed only by the seller | Hash anchored in Bitcoin via OpenTimestamps |
| URL that breaks if vendor pivots | DOI permanent at doi.org via CERN |
| Trust the vendor's database | Verify against open public infrastructure |
| Re-attestation requires re-purchase | Original proof remains valid forever |
